2015 Bee Round by Round Tracking

A Spelling Bee event like ours uses rounds to track how spellers progress through the event.

To win, a speller must outlast the other spellers and have a final round where they spell a word correctly to win the Bee.

2015 Billerica Spelling Bee Results

On Saturday, February 7, 2015, the sixth annual Billerica Spelling took place at the Marshall Middle School in Billerica, MA.

The event featured over 125 students from grades three through eight in rounds of competition that ended with a champion being crowned for each grade.

The event would not have been possible without the contributions of our volunteers and generous sponsors: Billerica Rotary Club, Enterprise Bank, and Building Billerica’s Future. We thank them all for their support.

Money raised at the event will be used to fund innovative classroom projects through the annual grant program of the Billerica Partners for Education.

Photographs from the event are available on Facebook.

The event was recorded for broadcast on BATV. DVD copies of the event will be available for a nominal fee. Details will be shared in the coming weeks.

The 6th Annual Billerica Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Billerica Rotary Club will be held on Saturday February 7, 2015 at the Marshall Middle School, 15 Floyd Street, Billerica, MA.

Students who have earned their place as finalists will represent their school in this daylong competition.

The schedule of rounds will be:

  • 9:00 AM – Third grade
  • 10:30 AM – Fourth grade
  • 12:00 PM – Fifth grade
  • 1:30 PM – Sixth grade
  • 3:00 PM – Seventh grade
  • 4:00 PM – Eighth grade

Important Notes

Finalists should plan to arrive fifteen minutes prior to their round for check-in.

Due to the nature of the competition, the only start time we can guarantee is the first round. If the competition is still going, we will not conclude the round until we have a winner. We’ve been able to manage this well, over the years, but we ask for your understanding in advance and we’ll do our best to maintain the schedule.

Tickets will grant an all-day admission and will be $7 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, and no charge for children under 5.

Students participating in the Spelling Bee do not need a ticket.

Proceeds from the event go to fund the Innovative Classroom Grants program of the Billerica Partners for Education.

The public is welcome to attend the event.
